Welcome to Basic Finch Studios!
Basic Finch Studios is a remote indie video game studio currently producing the Action Deckbuilding RPG Vie: Try Again. We are a team of 8 with a broad array of experience and shipped titles in varied forms of media from various backgrounds. Among our members are Programmers, Writers, Designers, Audio Engineers, Composers, Artists and Marketing Specialists. Below are brief summaries or our talented members!
Ross
As our Director, Ross manages the team, and is a generalist who works on all areas of the game, but mostly takes care of programming gameplay. He’s worked on a plethora of smaller projects before: Music Production and Game Dev, which you can check out by clicking on his name!
Jordan
A Computer Engineer by trade, and rat lord by birth, Jordan is an experienced programmer that handles data structure and management for the team. He does this while assisting in enemy AI, physics, enemy designs and save systems.
Vinny
The Audio Team Lead for Basic Finch, Vinny has loads of combined experience in all aspects of the audio and games industries working in small and large studios, as well as booming freelance business that you can find by clicking his name!
Shy
An artist and character designer, Shy is imperative to the design process. He also helps manage the social media posts because of their blooming art page, which you can find by clicking their name!
Joe
And experienced pianist and pen and ink artist, Joe lends a hand to the entire art department. He’s had his hands in several small projects, and even designed our logo. You can find Gumdrop Joe by clicking his name!

Vie: Try Again
Vie: Try Again is a 2D deck building action RPG with Rogue-lite elements. Join Cut, a small town guard, who was (involuntarily) employed by the moon goddess Vie to help free her temples from under the thumb of opposing gods! Coming Q1 2026.
